An Intimate Countryside Wedding in France

Real Wedding story

Photographing a Beautiful, Intimate Summer Wedding in France

Emotional Wedding Photography

When Peter and Chris booked me as their wedding photographer for their intimate summer wedding at their home in Autignac, France I was so excited, although I did not quite know what to expect. However, it was clear from the moment I arrived that this day was going to be something special.

They immediately made me feel so welcome and part of the day, and the whole atmosphere felt relaxed and joyful. As a documentary wedding photographer, and I so I love people and their connections with others. When couples and their families and friends make me feel like part of the day it is so much easier to capture those beautiful in-between moments.

Set in the heart of the French countryside, their home in Autignac was the perfect setting, with gorgeous landscapes and light lasting well into the evening. But what I was drawn to the most about this wedding day, was the people. There was such a wonderful sense of community throughout. With family and friends travelling from all around the world. Plus locally with a choir from the village who performed during the ceremony and drinks reception and a local band that brought so much life and fun in the evening. Every part made the day feel incredibly special and personal. it was truly a joy to be a part of.

This is why I love intimate weddings in France. With fewer people and a more relaxed pace, there is such an abundance of genuine emotions and joy. Nothing feels overly rushed or overwhelming. Instead, there is more space for connection, laughter and happy tears.

Are You Planning An Intimate wEDDING in france?

If you are currently planning an intimate wedding in France, weddings, such as Chris and Peter’s, are such a lovely reminder that smaller celebrations can feel incredibly special. With the right atmosphere and people around you, an intimate wedding can feel just as joyful and full of life as any big wedding, if not more so.

Call To Action

My top tips for making an intimate wedding day feel truly amazing!

  • Focus in the people who matter the most
  • Keep your wedding guest list meaningful. The smaller the group of people the more time you have to spend with them to experience real moments together.
  • Choose a venue that feels right to you
  • Some venues are absolutely stunning, while others will have such a charm that you can’t really describe. My best advice is to choose a venue that feels like home. It will become such a special place to you.
  • Create space in your timeline
  • Having a timeline that allows more time you to breath will naturally lead to more incredible moments together. Create space for those moments that bring everyone together without being rushed or forced.
  • Trust your photographer to capture it naturally
  • Not ever photographer can capture the beauty and essence of an intimate wedding. It requires creativity and the ability to let you be fully present so that those beautiful genuine moments unfold on their own.

Weddings like these are such a lovely reminder of why intimate weddings can be so special. When the focus of the day is on you, those you love and simply enjoying the moment, the whole day has a relaxed, joyful energy that is such a privilege to be a part of. If you value real moments with those who are truly special to you then an intimate wedding maybe the perfect solution.
